How it Happenend
• York wasted little time getting going, scoring in just 12 seconds. Meghan Fox kicked things off for the Spartans, scoring her 41st of the season. The Knights battled back, answering within two and a half minutes, but the Green and White rattled off eight straight goals to take a commanding 9-1 lead. Devin Hursey got it started with 23:27 left in the first half. Natalie Rosewag fed Skye Slater to double York's lead, and before SVU mustered another point, Hursey added another, as did Regan Cook, who scored twice, Melissa Meehling, Fox and Slater.
• Once Southern Virginia closed to 9-2, York finished the first half off with another blistering tear, putting together five consecutive goals to head into the break with a 14-2 advantage. To start the second half, the seventh-ranked Spartans managed the first two goals, thanks to Hayley McCormick and Juliana Greco. Greco would add another before the final buzzer, as did Amanda Tufano, Caitlin Rankin and Madison Marciniak. The 20-3 win was York's eighth in a row, solidifying the second spot in the Capital Athletic Conference.
