YORK, PA - York College sophomore attack Meghan Fox has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Fox led the #9 Spartans to a pair of big wins including a come-from-behind victory over #3 Trinity on Wednesday night.
The Spartans trailed Trinity 7-1 in the first half and Fox started the comeback with three goals before halftime as the Spartans ended the half down 7-5. Fox scored three goals early in the second half and then scored York's 14th and 15th goals to tie the game with 2:48 left in regulation. Fox finished the game with a career-high eight goals which is also the second-highest single game total in school history.
Fox then followed that with four goals and two assists in the road win at Oswego on Saturday.
For the week, Fox totaled 14 points on 12 goals and two assists while she also had a ground ball, a draw control and a caused turnover. She put 18 of her 23 shots on target (78.3%).
For the season, Fox leads the team with 23 points and 18 goals and five assists. She is 5-for-7 in free position shots as she is putting 73% of her shots on goal.
