YORK, PA - York College junior goalkeeper Ashley Smith (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson) has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Smith was named the Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week after leading the 10th-ranked Spartans to wins over Dickinson and CAC rival St. Mary's. She allowed just seven goals in the two games while recording 15 saves for a 68.2 save percentage. She also helped the defensive effort with four ground balls, including three against Dickinson.
For the season, Smith is 6-0 with a 5.80 goals against average and a 56.4% save percentage. She has registered 44 saves in 352 minutes of work.
Smith is a mass communications major and is the daughter of Randy and Debbie Smith.
