YORK, PA - York College junior Brittany Hicks (Dover, Pa./York Catholic) has been named to the prestigious D3hoops.com National Team of the Week as announced by the site on Tuesday morning.
Hicks led the Spartans to a third seed in the upcoming CAC tournament with a fantastic individual week. Hicks began her week with a career-high 32 points and 12 rebounds in the mid-week contest at Mary Washington. Hicks was a blistering 11-for-14 from the field including a three and a 9-for-10 performance at the free throw line. The 32 points tie Salisbury's Anna Hackett for the best single game scoring performance in the conference this year.
Hicks then recorded her conference-leading 15th double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds in the season finale win over Frostburg State on Saturday. She was 5-for-10 from the floor and 10-for-14 from the free throw line.
For the week, Hicks averaged 26 points and 14 rebounds per game as she shot 66.7% from the field and 79.2% from the charity stripe.
The national honor is the first for a Spartan hoops player this year.
Hicks is a biology/pre-med major and is the daughter of Tim and Nancy Milhalko.
