Hill Earns CAC Honors

YORK, Pa. – York College softball freshman designated player Payton Hill (Staunton, Va./Fort Defiance) was awarded All-Capital Athletic Conference honors as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. Hill earned first-team honors to represent the Spartans this season.

As a freshman, Hill is leading the Green and White on offense. Her batting average currently stands at .389. She has 13 runs on 42 hits in 108 at bats. She has recorded 14 doubles, one triple and also leads the team with five homeruns. Hill has tallied 34 RBI's, registered 73 total bases and only struck out nine times.  Her slugging percentage stands at .676 and she has an on base percentage of .411. 

Hill recorded a single-game high six RBI's at Washington College on April 19 and then earned a single-game high seven total bases at Misericordia on April 21. She hit a game high three doubles at Frostburg St. on April 10, while earning her first triple of her career at home against Wesley on April 6.

The Spartans close out their 2013 season with their final double header at McDaniel on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch for game one is set for 3:30 pm.
