The York College softball squad saw their stellar 2008 campaign come to a disappointing loss on Thursday as Franklin & Marshall edged the Spartans 3-2 in eight innings in Lancaster, Pa.

Spartans Capture Two Wins at Susquehanna Thursday
The York College softball team notched two more non-conference wins as the swept Susquehanna University on Thursday in Selinsgrove, PA. The Spartans won game one 5-4 in eight innings and completed the sweep with an 8-2 win in the nightcap. York improves to 27-10 with the win.

Four Spartans Earn All-CAC Accolades
The York College softball team had four players earn All-Capital Athletic Conference honors as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. Sophomores Sam Lawrence and Heather Bormann were joined on the squad by freshmen Kelly Smith and Kristen Gray.

Spartans Get Back on Track with Sweep of Messiah
The York College softball team got back to their winning ways with a doubleheader sweep of Messiah College on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon in Grantham, PA. The Spartans won game one 4-0 and completed the sweep with a 2-1 victory in the nightcap.

Spartans Remain Alive in CAC Tournament with 4-0 Win
The York College softball squad posted a 4-0 win over Hood College to remain alive in the 2008 Capital Athletic Conference tournament hosted by Salisbury University. The Spartans advance to face Villa Julie College in an elimination game at 4:00 pm on Saturday.

The York College softball team suffered a shocking loss as the sixth seeded Villa Julie Mustangs defeated the Spartans 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the 2008 Capital Athletic Conference tournament in Salisbury, MD.

Spartans Fall to UMW in CAC Tournament
The York College softball squad suffered a tough 5-0 loss to Mary Washington in the second round of the CAC tournament on Thursday in York. The Spartans, who are the two seed, fall to 22-9 overall while the Eagles advance to the winners bracket with a mark of 24-15.

Pitchers Star as Spartans Split with DeSales in Non-Conference Twinbill
The York College softball squad split a non-conference doubleheader with DeSales University on a cool and breezy Sunday afternoon in York. The Spartans won game one 2-1 while the Bulldogs turned that around and won game two, 2-1, in eight innings.

The York College softball had their nine game win streak snapped by Capital Athletic Conference nemesis Salisbury University as the Sea Gulls swept the Spartans in a battle of the two top teams in the CAC.

The York College softball squad rolled to a Capital Athletic Conference sweep of Hood College on Thursday afternoon in Frederick, MD. The Spartans, winners of nine straight, improve to 21-5 overall and 10-0 in the Capital Athletic Conference.

York College senior pitcher Megan Mickles threw a five inning perfect game as the Spartans swept the Gallaudet Bison in a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader Tuesday in York.

Bormann Named CAC Player of the Week for a Second Time in 2008
York College sophomore shortstop Heather Bormann has been named the Capital Athletic Conference softball player of the week for the second time this season. Bormann led the Spartans to a 7-1 week as York is now 17-5 overall.

Spartans Push Win Streak to Five with Sweep of McDaniel
The York College softball team remained hot as the Spartans posted a doubleheader sweep of McDaniel on an overcast Sunday afternoon in York. The Spartans, winners of five straight, won game one 4-3 and completed the sweep with a 12-3 win in the nightcap.

Spartans Post CAC Sweep at Wesley
The York College softball team rolled to a sweep of Wesley in a Capital Athletic Conference twinbill on Saturday in Dover, Del. The Spartans won game one 5-0 and completed the sweep with a 13-3 win in the nightcap. York is now 15-5 overall and 6-0 in the CAC.

Spartan Win Streak Snapped; York Gains Split at Dickinson
The York College softball team had their eight game win streak snapped but the green and white bounced back to earn a split in a non-conference twinbill Thursday night in Carlisle, PA. The Red Devils won game one 5-3 before the Spartans won game two 9-0.

The York College softball team remained red hot with a doubleheader sweep of Elizabethtown College on Tuesday in York. The Spartans, winners of eight straight, won game one 3-2 and concluded the day with a 7-1 win in the nightcap.

Mickles Named CAC Softball Player of the Week
York College senior softball pitcher Megan Mickles has been named the Capital Athletic Conference player of the week for March 30, 2008. Mickles led the Spartans to a perfect 6-0 week as the Spartans are now 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the CAC.

The York College softball team kept rolling as they swept a crucial Capital Athletic Conference twinbill from the University of Mary Washington on Saturday. The Spartans won game one 1-0 and completed the sweep with a 10-3 win in the nightcap.

The York College softball team opened Capital Athletic Conference play with a sweep of Villa Julie College on Wednesday afternoon in York. The Spartans edged the Mustangs 5-4 in game one before posting a 5-0 win over the guests in the nightcap.

The York College softball team took to the road and swept the Millersville Marauders in a twin bill on Monday afternoon in Millersville. The Spartans improve to 6-4 overall with the two victories.

The York College softball squad made their 2008 home debut with a double dip split with Kings College on a windy Thursday afternoon in York. The Spartans won game one 7-6 in eight innings while the Monarchs earned the split with a 10-2 win in the nightcap.

Spartans Drop Twinbill at Bridgewater
The York College softball squad got back on the field for the first time in 13 days as the Spartans dropped a non-conference double dip at Bridgewater College. The Eagles won game one 6-5 in eight innings in the opener and completed the sweep with a 7-1 win in the night cap.

Bormann Named CAC Softball Player of the Week
York College sophomore shortstop was named the Capital Athletic Conference softball player of the week after she led the Spartans to a 3-1 record at this weekend's Virginia Wesleyan Beach Bash.

The York College softball squad capped a successful season-opening trip the Virginia Wesleyan College Beach Bash as they finished 3-1 for the weekend. On Saturday, the Spartans split with Methodist and Rutgers-Newark.

The York College softball team gave first-year head coach a pair of wins in her first two games as the Spartans defeated Averett 3-1 in the opener and completed the daily sweep with an 8-0 win over Meredith.

The York College softball team begins 2008 with a new leader as head coach Jennifer Patrick brings a high level of enthusiasm to a young and talented squad. Patrick begins her first year on the job with a number of returners that should put the Spartans in a position to be successful in 2008.

The York College softball squad is set to host a series of winter softball clinics. The Spartans, under the guidance of first-year head coach Jennifer Patrick, welcome all interested players to apply.

Jennifer Patrick Named New Spartan Softball Coach
York College Dean of Athletics and Recreation Sean Sullivan is happy to announce that Jennifer Patrick has been selected as the new Spartan softball coach. Patrick, previously the head coach at Chowan, replaces Becky Bliss who resigned at the end of the 2007 season after five years at the helm of the Spartan program.
