Stephen LoBianco starts his third season as assistant coach of the York College cross country team as well as the distance coach for the track program. LoBianco brings a wealth of experience to the Spartan squad.
LoBianco's inaugural season with the Spartan cross country squad proved a tremendous one as he saw Mandy Parshall capture York's first-ever individual conference championship in women's cross country. Additionally, he helped the Green and White to a pair of quality third-place team finishes at the annual Capital Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships.
During year two, LoBianco helped mentor Tim Hartung, Steven Childress, and Aaron Robertson as they went 1-2-3 at the CAC Championships as the Spartans earned their first ever cross country championship. He also helped guide Hartung to an appearance in the NCAA Division III Championships.
As an undergrad at Shippensburg University, he was a four-year varsity athlete in cross country and track & field. He was captain of the Red Raider cross country team as well as the distance squad in track. During his time at Shippensburg, he also competed with his team at nationals.
LoBianco is a 2007 graduate of Shippensburg University with a BS in Business Administration.
After college he continues to run and train for local road races and track meets. He competes for the Bauer Shoes running team and recently completed his first marathon in 2:35.05.
Prior to his coming to York, LoBianco served as an assistant coach with track & field at Northeastern High School, where he concentrated on pole-vault and distance running.
