Coach LoBianco Wins CAC Coach of the Year

YORK Pa. – The Spartan Cross Country teams had a stellar CAC Championship.  There were many individuals that stepped up, and the team showed off their hard work. 

Leading the Spartans this year, was first year head coach Stephen LoBianco.   LoBianco was awarded the honor as the CAC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.  He helped lead the men’s team to their third straight team title, after spending four years as an assistant coach. 

Coach LoBianco on how he felt about his award, “I was honored to be voted men's coach of the year by my peer coaches.”

LoBianco helped the men’s team take first by beating Christopher Newport by 17 points.  He was also the coach of two individual champions, and the women’s team that missed a team championship by just 11 points.

On winning the men’s title, LoBianco states, “It really comes down to the athletes believing in all the work we have done and progressing throughout the season. They all make me look good.”

Coach LoBianco is always one to spread the praises by stating, “I also would like to thank my assistant coaches and all those that help the program.”

It has been a great first year so far for Coach LoBianco, and now he is looking forward to the NCAA Regional Championships at Muhlenburg, on November 16.
