York Posts Quality Finishes at Pre-Regional Meet

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The York College men's cross country team competed at the Pre-Regional Meet Saturday morning hosted by DeSales University. With the large event split into two flights, the Spartans finished fourth in the Blue group while taking eighth overall out of the 45 total teams in attendance.

Tim Hartung, York's standout sophomore, put together yet another spectacular race as he has done exceptionally well throughout the year. Hartung posted a 26:13.94 to take sixth overall out of the 448 runners. In the Blue flight, Hartung placed third just a little over eight seconds off the leader and less than five seconds out of second place.

Junior Steven Childres ran to a quality seventh-place finish in the Blue flight, 17th-place overall, as he crossed the finish line in 26:41.43. Rounding out York's top trio, sophomore John Wallace took 11th in the group, 25th overall, with a time of 27:07.98.

Craig Eppler posted a top-100 time for the Green and White as the sophomore clocked a 28:31.79 to finish 99th. Aaron Robertson ran to a 28:45.13 while Matt Smith crossed the line a 28:58.90.

The Spartans return to competition on Saturday, October 15. York is slated to travel to the Goucher College Classic for the 10:30 am event.
