BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The York College men's track and field team competed in the Greyhound Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Moravian College.
Sean Welsh (Baltimore, Md./Parkville) continued to look strong in the 100-meter dash. Welsh clocked in with a time of 11.0 flat and a fifth place finish. Sebastian Hall (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) recorded a 14th place time in 11.29 and Phillip Cavaluchi (Port Carbon, Pa./Pottsville) came in 26th with a time of 11.74.
In the 1,500 meters, Tim Hartung (Mohnton, Pa./Governor Mifflin) had a really strong perforamce. Hartung came in fourth place and finished the race in 3:59.73, less than two seconds off the current school record.
Andrew Ward (Oxford, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) and Joseph Corrigan (Northport, N.Y./Northport) looked good in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, improving from previous performances. Ward finished in 20th place with a time of 10:42.28 and Joe Corrigan recorded a time of 10:44.95 for 22nd place.
Cavaluchi earned a sixth place finish in the long jump with a distance of 6.43 meters.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday for the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. The meet begins at 10:00 am and runs through Saturday.
