YORK, Pa. – York College men's track & field junior Phillip Cavaluchi captured Capital Athletic Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week honors after an impressive performance at the University of Maryland on Saturday. He garners the accolade along with Salisbury senior thrower Jay Drenner.
The talented junior led the Green and White as he finished first in the long jump and fourth in javelin. In the long jump, he defeated competitors from Navy, Temple, UMBC, and several Division III opponents. Cavaluchi garnered 6.81-meter leap in the long jump, 52.09 meters in javelin, and just missed qualifying for the finals in the 100-meter dash (11.15).
Having put together a strong campaign through now, Cavaluchi will look to continue his success throughout the rest of the season and through the CAC Championships early next month.
