Members of the York College men’s and women’s track & field squad competed at the Swarthmore Last Chance meet Monday at Swarthmore College, looking to hit marks for a possible bid into next week’s NCAA National Outdoor Championships in Claremont, Calif.
Phillip Cavaluchi, Tim Hartung, and Alex Aponte each registered individual victories Sunday as the York College men’s track & field team secured second place at the two-day Capital Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Frostburg St. University. The Spartans collected 108 team points to garner the runner-up spot while first-place Salisbury posted 253 points.
The York College men’s track & field team sit in the second-place as of the close of competition on the first day of the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Spartans currently hold the runner-up spot with 31 points while first-place Salisbury has posted 48.

Junior Phillip Cavaluchi continued his outstanding campaign as he captured the win in the long jump. The Spartan standout posted a victorious 6.95-meter (22’ 9.75”) leap as he bested several Division I student-athletes.
The York College men’s track & field squad competed at the Johns Hopkins / Loyola Invitational on Saturday in Baltimore, Md. Utilizing the meet as more of a training session, the Spartans finished ninth out of 11 squads capturing 32.5 points.

Junior Phillip Cavaluchi posted a tremendous performance Saturday as he and the York College men’s track & field squad finished seventh out of nine teams at the 2012 Maryland Invitational at the University of Maryland – College Park. The Green and White competed against a number of Division I programs including Maryland, Navy, and Temple.
The York College men’s track & field team competed at the Golden Ram Collegiate Invitational Saturday at West Chester University in West Chester, Pa. The Spartans put together a strong meet as they recorded a number of quality results.
The York College track & field squad hosted the Green & White Intersquad Alumni Challenge on Saturday prior to officially kicking off their 2012 outdoor campaign next weekend. Featuring current and former York College men's and women's track & field athletes, the meet provided a solid yet relaxed tune-up for the Spartans. This honor marks the second straight week that a Spartan has garnered the CAC accolade in the sport after Wil Feliciano captured league’s Co-Track Athlete of the Week award last week.
The York College men’s track & field team competed Friday evening at the Susquehanna Crusader Indoor in Selinsgrove, Pa. In their first Division III meet of the 2012 calendar year, the Spartans registered two school records as they continue to establish new program bests this season.

The Macungie, Pa. native was a part of two record-breaking performances on Saturday.
