Green and White Compete at Messiah Quad

GRANTHAM, Pa. – The York College men's track & field squad competed with a smaller group of Spartans at the Messiah Quad on Wednesday. The Green and White posted a third-place finish as they recorded 34 points with limited competitors.

Rookie thrower Marcus Bailey put together a strong effort in the discus event for the Green and White. Bailey's toss of 130' 8" in the discus allotted him the victory.

Fellow thrower Steven Goldberg picked up the win in the hammer while Zack Raywood recorded second in the event. Austin Dubos notched a runner-up finish of his own in the shot put while taking third in the discus with a hurl of 118' 6".

Newcomer Zach Rogers took first in the high jump for the Spartans while Phillip Cavaluchi's leap of 19' 4" in the long jump was good for second place.

In the 1500-meter run, York placed a trio of Spartan in the top five. Led by Steven Childres' winning time of 4:14.31, Tim Hartung snagged the runner-up spot and Andrew Friesema took fifth.

The Spartans return to action on Saturday, April 1, when they host the Green & White Invitational. Start time is slated for 10:00 am.
