ANNVILLE, Pa. – The York College men's track & field team sent a group of Spartans to the Lebanon Valley Invitational Friday afternoon in Annville, Pa. The Green and White snagged numerous top-three finishes at the meet as they continue to make strides toward April's Capital Athletic Conference Championships.
Junior sprinter Le Von White had a terrific day as he posted a pair of victories. White picked up the triumph in the 200 meters with a 23.88 while also securing the 400 with a 52.91.
Rookie Randolph Patrice nabbed a second-place finish in the 400 meters while taking third in the 200. Phil Cavaluchi recorded the runner-up spot in that 200-meter dash as the Spartans went 1-2-3 in the event.
Registering a second and third of his own, senior Ben Edwards finished #2 in the 110 hurdles with a 16.10 while his third-place time came in the 800 meters.
In the throwing events, the Green and White placed at least one in the top-three of each of the four events. The Spartans went 2-3-4 in the discus led by Zack Raywood's toss of 118'. Marcus Bailey launched a throw of 116'4" while Austin Dubos captured fourth with a 110'2" distance.
Raywood also secured a second-place result in the hammer throw while Dubos took the runner-up spot in the shot put. In the javelin, Cavaluchi came in third with a throw of 163'11".
York is set to return to action on Saturday, March 19, as they travel to West Chester for the Golden Ram Invitational. Start time is slated for 11:00 am.
