Captains Blank Spartans on Sunday in York

YORK, PA – The York College men's tennis team dropped their third straight match as the nationally ranked Christopher Newport Captains blanked the Spartans 9-0 in Capital Athletic Conference action on Sunday in York.

The Captains, who are ranked 37th in the country, improve to 9-8 overall and 3-1 in the league. The Spartans fall to 6-8 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Christopher Newport won the three doubles matches to seize control of the match. The Captains then swept the singles matches, earning six straight set wins. Sam Price had the most success for the Spartans as he fell 6-2, 6-3 in the fifth singles match.

The Spartans are set to return to action on Friday afternoon as they head to Penn State Harrisburg for a CAC contest. The match is slated for a 3:00 pm start.
