Men's Tennis Opens League Slate with 6-3 Win

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD – The York College men's tennis squad opened their 2018 Capital Athletic Conference schedule with a 6-3 win at St. Mary's College on Friday afternoon in St. Mary's City, Maryland.

The Spartans improve to 6-5 overall and 1-0 in the league while the Seahawks are now 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the league.


Spartan Winners

Second Singles: Sam Innerst def. Ethan Garren 6-1, 6-2

Third Singles: Devin Lehigh def. Ron Stith 6-0, 6-2

Sixth Singles: Sam Price def. Jacob Bartholow 6-2, 6-0

First Doubles: Sam Innerst/Devin Lehigh def. Ethan Garren/Jon Gorel 8-4

Second Doubles: Sam Price/Ben Sentz def. Connor McKissick/Ron Stith 8-3

Third Doubles: Joel Hess/Lukas Olson def. Jacob Bartholow/Kyle Van Winter 8-3



The Spartans have won two straight against the Seahawks … this is the Spartans first match since March 2, a span of three weeks … the Spartans swept the three doubles flights for the fifth time this season … Sam Price and Ben Sentz improve to 6-4 at second doubles as their six wins leads the squad … Sam Innerst and Devin Lehigh earned their fifth doubles win at first doubles … Sam Innerst and Devin Lehigh each earned their seventh wins in singles play … Sam Price improved to 6-4 with his sixth singles win as he is now 4-2 at that sixth singles position.
