YORK, PA – The York College men's tennis squad continued a very challenging stretch of their schedule as they hosted an undefeated Juniata Eagle squad on Sunday morning in York. The Eagles remained unbeaten as they left York with a 7-2 win.
Juniata improves to 12-0 overall while the Spartans fall to 4-7 with the setback.
York got their first point of the match with a first doubles win from the tandem of Tyler Cheatham (Westminster, Md./Westminster) and Daniel Erk (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown). The Spartan duo combined to post an 8-5 win for York. The Eagles won the second doubles match 8-4 and the third doubles match 8-5.
Juniata earned victories in the first three singles matches before Spartan freshman Kaltrin Ballaj (Glen Rock, Pa./Susquehannock) earned a 6-4, 6-1 fourth singles win over Elliott Perow.
The Eagles closed out the match with wins in the fifth and sixth singles to provide for the final score.
York returns to action on April 12 when they host Southern Virginia in a non-conference contest. The action in York is set for a 10:00 am start.
