SALISBURY, Md. – The York College men's tennis team saw their 2010-2011 campaign come to a close Monday afternoon, falling 9-0 at Salisbury in the semifinal round of the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament. The Spartans conclude the season with a 12-8 record while the Sea Gulls move on to the CAC Tournament final with a record of 15-6.
York's Ryan Harvey gave Henry Stuhler a bit of a run at second singles. However, the senior Spartan fell 6-2, 6-4.
Similarly, Nathaniel Hoskins gave a solid effort at fourth singles yet dropped the result 6-4, 6-2.
The Spartans finish the year with six players reaching double figures in individual wins. Hoskins finishes his freshman campaign with a team-high 16 wins as he compiled a terrific 16-7 mark. Senior Philip Myers put together a strong season of his own with a 15-6 singles record.
York now bids farewell to their five seniors as Harvey, Myers, Justin Hostetter, Colin Jones, and Travis Klein complete their careers with the Green and White. Over the previous four seasons, the Spartans have not posted a losing season while accumulating a mark of 46-30, including a 17-8 record in CAC play.
