York College is proud to announce that Erin Kurtz has been hired as the first full-time Head Swimming Coach and Director of Aquatics. Kurtz was named to the position after an extensive national search.
The York College men’s swimming team captured third place at the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Swimming Championships which came to a close Sunday evening. In total, the Spartans tallied 482.5 points while first-place Mary Washington secured 969 points and runner-up St. Mary’s (Md.) recorded 549.
The York College men’s swimming team put together yet another solid performance at the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Swimming Championships on Saturday. After the second day, the Spartans currently hold the third spot with 334.5 points. Mary Washington sits atop the list 665 while St. Mary’s (Md.) has posted 363.
The first day of the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Swimming Championships proved a solid one for the York College men’s swimming team. The Spartans put together several quality races as they finished the evening in third place overall with 125 points.
The York College men’s swimming team posted a regular-season-ending 139-50 victory over Capital Athletic Conference foe Frostburg St. on Saturday afternoon in York. With the win, the Spartans, who celebrated Senior Day prior to the meet, improve 11-4 overall on the season while the Bobcats drop to 3-8.
The York College men’s swimming team suffered a 121-84 loss to visiting Rowan University on Monday evening in York. With the loss, the Spartans drop to 10-4 on the season while the Profs improve 4-0 on the year.
The York College men’s swimming team fell to host Ursinus College 155-107 on Saturday in Collegeville, Pa. With the defeat, the Spartans (10-3) suffer their first loss since November 12, snapping a streak of seven straight triumphs.
In their second meet in as many days, the York College men’s swimming team posted a convincing 205-47 result over visiting Elizabethtown Saturday afternoon in York. The triumph proves the Spartans’ 10th of the season as they improve to 10-2 on the season.
The York College men’s swimming team cruised to a pair of victories Friday evening in York besting both Gallaudet University and Penn State-Altoona by scores of 110-90 and 113-69, respectively. With the pair of triumphs, the Spartans improve to a solid 9-2 on the season.
The York College men’s swimming team fought their way to the top over Goucher College, 114-90, and Capital Athletic Conference opponent Salisbury University, 115.50-88.50 in their meet held Friday, December 2, in York. Those victories move the Spartans to 7-2, having won their last four contests, and currently sit at 4-1 in league meets.
The York College men's swimming squad defeated Susquehanna Saturday but came up short against both Dickinson and Capital Athletic Conference foe St. Mary’s College in a quad meet at the York College Natatorium. The Green and White bested Susquehanna 126-76 while Dickinson and St. Mary’s edged out the Spartans by a count of 132-72 and 114-90, respectively. The victory coupled with the two losses gives the Spartans a 4-2 overall record in this young season, including a 3-1 mark in the CAC.

In a follow up to last night’s pair of triumphs, the York College men’s swimming team picked up win number three on the season with a 158-90 victory at Marymount. The Saturday-afternoon Capital Athletic Conference win lifts the Spartans to 3-0 this season as each of their victories have come in-conference.
The York College men's swimming squad began the season in tremendous fashion by becoming only the second school ever in the Capital Athletic Conference to defeat Mary Washington in an in-conference matchup. The Green and White snapped a 22-year losing streak to the Eagles, as they bested visiting Mary Washington 67-55 on Friday evening. The Spartans also play spoiler to the Eagles by breaking their 11-year undefeated CAC run as Mary Washington’s last defeat in the CAC was in 2000 when they fell to Catholic University. The Spartans also bested Hood College this evening 98-24.
The York College men’s swimming team enters the 2011-2012 campaign as a markedly different yet optimistic squad. With the departure of a number of top swimmers, including multiple-time All-Capital Athletic Conference performer AJ Bean, this season’s Spartan team sports quality potential and exciting, yet unproven, talent.
