Jim Mustard enters his eighth season as York’s goalkeeper coach. Mustard has made a huge impact in on the program during his tenure on the Spartan bench.
Under his tutelage, Spartan netminders only allowed three goals during the 2008 campaign, one of the best marks in Division III history, while nabbing 17 total shutouts. In 2009, York's goalkeepers sported an outstanding goals against average of 0.50 while totaling six shutouts. The 2012 campaign was another stellar defensive effort for York as the Green and White boasted a 0.63 goals against average and 12 shutouts. The 2014 season was much of the same as York notched a 0.60 goals against average with 14 goals allowed in 23 games with 14 shutouts.
During his time with the Spartans, Mustard's charges have allowed just 115 goals in 176 games covering 16,519:29 of game action, good for a goals against average of 0.62. The Spartans have notched 98 shutouts during those 176 games.
In addition to his coaching duties with the Spartan squad, Mustard serves as the Athletic Director at nearby York Country Day School while he is also the head girls goalkeeper coach for the Maryland Olympic Development program, the Region 1 ODP program, and the head goalkeeping coach for FC York. Prior to serving with the Green and White, Mustard was the Millersville University goalkeeper coach. Mustard also holds a USSF "B" coaching licesne and NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma.
