YORK, PA - York College sophomore defensive standout Josh Kluver (Abington, Pa./Abington) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Kluver had a fantastic week in leading the Spartans to a pair of Capital Athletic Conference wins as the Spartans sealed up the second seed in this week's CAC Touranment. In the Wednesday win over St. Mary's, Kluver forced six St. Mary's turnovers while he also collected six ground balls in the 18-11 win. The six caused turnovers established a new career high for the sophomore while the six ground balls tied a career high which was set last year against St. Mary's.
In the win over CNU, he was credited with a caused turnover as the Spartans rolled to the regular season finale win. The win over the Captains set a new school record for the Spartans as they ended the regular season with a mark of 14-3.
For the season, Kluver has started all 17 games and leads the team in caused turnovers with 25. He has also collected 38 ground balls and has a game winning goal for York.
