Haverford Knocks off Spartans Despite Hutson's Five Goals
HAVERFORD, PA – The York College men's lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season as the Haverford Fords knocked the Spartans from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 14-8 setback in Haverford, PA on a very cold Thursday night.

Haverford picked up two huge goals in the final 2:10 of the half, pushing their lead back to four at 8-4.
The Fords carried over the momentum of their late second quarter goals with a pair of tallies to start the third quarter, growing their led to 10-4 with 5:09 left in the third. Hutson put home two more goals in a 25 second span as the Spartan deficit stood at 10-6. The Fords got a spirit-breaking goal with three seconds left in the third quarter as Jake Maldonado found the back of the net for Haverford's 11th goal of the game.
The Fords outscored the Spartans 3-2 in the fourth as York couldn't get closer than five goals in the final period.

Freshman Christian Koch (Sykesville, Md./Century) suffered the loss for York as he allowed 14 goals on 24 Haverford shots. Koch notched six saves for York.
York finished with a 37-24 edge in total shots while Haverford recorded a 36-29 margin in ground balls. The Spartans struggled in extra man situations for the first time this year. York entered the game having converted 40% of their EMO chances in their first three contests. On Thursday, York went 0-5 in their man up chances. York was 0-for-2 in the second quarter and 0-for-3 in the third.
The Spartans look to get back into the win column on Saturday when they continue their season-high four game road trip at Randolph-Macon College. Game time in Ashland, VA is set for 3:00 pm.
