Abney Named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week

YORK, PA - York College freshman Caleb Abney (Forrest Hills, Md./Fallston) earned the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Co-Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Abney was fantastic in his first collegiate start in the Spartans' 9-7 win at McDaniel on Saturday. Abney allowed three first quarter goals but bounced back to stiffle the Green Terror the rest of the game. Abney, who made eight saves in the decisive third quarter, finished the game with 19 saves in his 60 minutes of action. 

Abney is a marketing major and is the son of Doug and Faith Abney.
