YORK, Pa. - York College men's lacrosse senior goalkeeper Tyler Powell was selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week as released by the conference office on Monday.
Powell helped the Spartans to a 2-0 week over a pair of Capital Athletic Conference opponents. Against Hood on Wednesday, the Green and White captured an 11-5 victory before topping Frostburg State 14-6 on Saturday in Frostburg.
The senior netminder posted six saves over his 45 minutes against Hood before registering ten stops in the triumph at Frostburg. He also nabbed eleven ground balls over those two contests.
This honor marks the second time this season Powell has received this accolade. He was also named the league's Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on March 19.
For the season, Powell has started in each of York's 13 games and sports a 7.84 goals against average - the third-best mark in the conference.
