ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – After holding the first round lead on Saturday, the York College men's golf squad stumbled to a team score of 312 as they finished fifth at the Mason Dixon Collegiate Classic hosted by McDaniel College. The Spartans had a six stroke lead heading into Sunday but failed to hold the lead as they finished 18 strokes behind tournament champion St. John Fisher in Sunday's round.

Top Spartan Performers
• The Spartans were paced by freshman Casey Leebrick and senior Tyler Newton as they each finished with a two-day total of 148. Leebrick shot a four-over-par 76 on Sunday to finish with his 148. Newton, after shooting a one-under-par 71 on Saturday, shot a 77 on Sunday to finish tied with Leebrick in 8th place.
• Freshman Dylan Wyatt was York's third finisher on Sunday as he shot a seven-over 79. Wyatt finished his tournament with a score of 153 as he finished tied for 21st.
• Sophomore Luke Fayocavitz was York's fourth scorer on Sunday as he finished with an 80, a six shot improvement over his Saturday score. Fayocavitz finished with a score of 166 to tie for 76th.
• Sophomore Joel Marshall was York's fifth participant on Sunday as he carded an 82. Marshall shot a two-day total of 159 to finish tied for 56th.
The Spartans conclude their fall season in 15 days when they head to Rome, Georgia to participate in the two-day Chick-Fil-A Collegiate Invitational hosted by Berry College. The action is slated for a 9:00 am start on Monday, October 22.
