    It is pretty insane when I think that in less then two weeks I will be back home in Hanover, PA. It feels like just yesterday that Amanda and I were arriving in Iceland, and now, we are both already packed and ready to go back from where we came.
  • Whaley and Kouvaris Selected to All-CAC Squad

    The York College men’s basketball program received good news on Tuesday afternoon as senior guard Kevin Whaley and junior forward Paul Kouvaris were selected to the 2010-11 All-Capital Athletic Conference teams as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Whaley earned a berth on the first-team while Kouvaris was a second-team selection.

    The York College men’s basketball team saw their successful 2010-11 season come to a close with a 77-64 loss to Salisbury University in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament First Round Tuesday night in York. The Spartans, who swept the regular season series from the Gulls, finish the season 17-9. Salisbury advances to the CAC semifinals, as they will travel to Wesley College to face the second-seeded Wolverines on Thursday night at seven.

    York College Spartans Men’s Basketball team came from behind to beat visiting Salisbury University 79-70 in overtime at the Charles Wolf Gymnasium Saturday afternoon in the season finale for both squads. The Spartans improve to 17-8 with the victory and 11-5 in the CAC. The Sea Gulls fall to 11-14 and 6-10 in the league with the setback. Prior to the game, seniors Dylan Hoffman, Matt Moley, and Kevin Whaley were honored for their contributions to the Spartan program.
  • Spartans Hand Wesley Their First Home Loss as York Secures #3 Seed

    The York College men’s basketball team handed the Wesley College Wolverines their first home loss of the season as the Spartans recorded a 74-73 Capital Athletic Conference win in a key league game Wednesday night in Dover, Delaware. The Spartans improve to 16-8 overall and 10-5 as they have clinched the third seed in the upcoming CAC Tournament. The Wolverines fall to 12-3 as they have clinched the second seed in the tournament while they are 16-8 overall.

    The York College men’s basketball team picked up an important 76-70 Capital Athletic Conference road victory at Mary Washington Saturday afternoon in Fredericksburg, VA. The Spartans improve to 15-8 overall and 9-5 in the CAC while the Eagles fall to 13-9 overall and 7-7 in the CAC.

    Ok, this blog has been a little overdue, to say the least. Amanda and I left for our trip to Europe on the 16th of December and almost immediately upon return her family showed up for a week. When they left my family was here for five days. Now our last visitors are here, two of Amanda’s close friends from back in high school. Things have been hectic with traveling, basketball, family, and coaching.

The Spartans had a chance to win the game but Jeremy Skoloda’s three pointer at the horn went off the back of the rim, snapping York’s four-game win streak.
