HARRISBURG, Pa. – Hitting the links for the second time this season, the York College golf team carded a 324 7th-place finish at the Messiah Falcon Classic Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Ridge Country Club saw the host Falcons win the par-72, 6,615-yard event with team mark of 313.
David Boslough (Dalton, Pa. / Lackawanna Trail), a 2013 All-Capital Athletic Conference honoree, proved the top Spartan finisher as the junior came in with a plus-seven 79. Boslough grabbed a tie for 12th overall with that performance.
Spartan newcomer Josh Strausbaugh (Orlando, Fla. / Lake Howell) and All-CAC sophomore Ryan Wolbach (Gilbertsville, Pa. / Boyertown) each fired an 81 to finish plus-nine on the day. Those marks placed both of the Spartans in a group tie for 26th overall out of 92 finishers.
Completing his round with an 83, fellow All-CAC member Kevin Long (Webster, N.Y. / Webster-Thomas) finished at plus-11 while senior Matt Storck (Smyrna, Del. / Smyrna) registered an 88 for the Green and White.
The Spartans return to competitive action on Thursday, September 19, when they travel to The Bridges Golf Club for the Gettysburg Fall Invitational. Tee time is slated for 12:30 pm.
