Golfers Finish Second at DeSales on Blustery Wednesday

MACUNGIE, PA – The York College golf squad competed at DeSales University with Moravian College a tri-meet on Wednesday at Brookside Country Club in Macungie, PA. Moravian won the intimate event with a team score of 318 while the Spartans finished second at 323 followed by the host Bulldogs at 329.

The Spartans were paced by freshman Tyler Keim (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) as he fired a six-over-par 77. Keim finished second, one stroke back of Moravian's Jim Maru who won the event with a five-over 76.

Junior Kevin Long (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) finished fourth with an 80 as he was four strokes off the lead. Eric Stauffer (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) was the third Spartan finisher as he carded an 11-over 82, tying him for eighth.

Ryan Wolbach (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) was York's final scorer as he tied for 11th place with an 84.

The Spartans return to action on Thursday when they travel to Elizabethtown to play in the Blue Jay Spring Invitational. The tournament is set for a 12:00 pm start at the Hershey Links.
