LEBANON, PA – The York College golf squad finished sixth of 17 teams at the 2013 Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational on Monday at Lebanon Country Club in Lebanon, Pa.
The Spartans shot a team score of 332 as they were two strokes out of a fourth place tie and five shots back of third place LVC. Millersville won the tournament by 13 strokes as the Marauders fired a team total of 313 while Stevenson finished second at 327.
The day was a brutal one for scoring as the wind howled all over the course. The Spartans were paced by the duo of Kevin Long (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) and David Boslough (Dalton, Pa./Lakawanna Trail) as they each shot a nine-over-par 81. Long and Boslough tied for 11th place with their scores.
Tyler Keim (Limerick, Pa./Spring-Ford) and Ryan Wolbach (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown) each finished four strokes back of Long and Boslough as they each shot 85 to tie for 33rd place in the 89-player tournament.
Eric Stauffer (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) rounded out the Spartan lineup with a score of 86.
The Spartans return to action on Wednesday when they travel to DeSales to play in a tri-meet with the Bulldogs and Moravian College. The event starts at 1:00 pm.
