Golfers Finish Third at PSU-Harrisburg Invitational

HARRISBURG, PA – The York College golf squad finished third at the two-day, nine-team Penn State Harrisburg Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Harrisburg, PA.

The Spartans shot 307 on Friday and followed that with a team score of 301 on Saturday, good for a two-day total of 617. Albright won the tournament with a two-day total of 599 while Muhlenberg finished second with a total of 602.

The Spartans placed sophomore Kevin Long on the all-tournament team as he shot a two-day total of 151 to finish fifth in the tournament. Long carded a 78 on Friday but tied for Saturday’s low scoring honors as he shot 73 during day two.

Senior Andrew Schmehl tied Long for the Spartans’ top scoring honors as he shot a 76 followed by a 75 for a two-day total of 151. Sophomore Travis Oot was steady during the weekend as he tallied a two-day score of 154. Oot shot 76 on Friday and was two strokes over that on Saturday with a 78.

Senior Adam Dupler was the fourth Spartan scorer as he shot a total of 161 courtesy of a 77 on Friday and an 84 on Saturday.

Freshman David Boslough played very well for York as he shot 78 in opening round followed by an impressive 74 on Saturday.

The Spartans return to action on Sunday morning when they travel to the two-day Glenmaura Collegiate Spring Invitational.
