| Title: | Asst. Field Hockey Coach - Goalkeepers |
Briana DeLuca begins her third season with the York College
field hockey program as she joined the squad as an assistant for
the 2010 campaign. She will be charged with handling the
goalkeepers for the Spartans.
DeLuca sports outstanding experience in the cage. The Mansfield
University graduate was a 2007 All-PSAC second-team selection and a
2008 All-PSAC West second-team choice. Throughout her career DeLuca
appeared in 70 games, starting 57 of those contests, totaling over
4,521 minutes in goal. She amassed 559 career saves, including a
career high of 183 as a sophomore. She currently holds three
Mansfield field hockey records – shutouts in a season,
overall shutouts, and minutes played.
On the coaching level, DeLuca brings a wealth of knowledge. She
has been a co-coordinator and organizer for AGRA Summer Field
Hockey Camps in West Grove, Pa. where she is responsible for camp
curriculum and on-field coaching among other responsibilities. She
also previously served as the goalkeeping coach for Mansfield
during the winter and spring of 2009, where she was also in-charge
of alumni correspondence and events.
With the Spartans, she will work most closely with the goalkeepers
in skill development and game management. She will also be called
upon for recruiting, practice planning, and game strategy.
