YORK, Pa. – The York College field hockey team closed out their regular season with a decisive 5-0 road victory over conference opponent Hood College. The Spartans improve to 10-8 overall and 4-3 in the Capital Athletic Conference, which makes them the fourth seed heading into the conference tournament. Hood falls to 3-12 overall and 0-7 in the CAC as they fail to qualify for postseason play.

The second tally of the first half was an unassisted goal scored by senior captain Brittany Simmons who now has two goals in the last two games for the Spartans.
York kept their foot on the throttle in the second half as they posted three more tallies. Once again Reich started off the scoring as she posted her second goal of the contest and 15th for the season, which puts her in fifth place in the CAC. Sophomore forward Madi Wilt tallied her eighth goal of the season as she knocked in an unassisted goal nine minutes into the second half. The Spartans finished out their offensive barrage in the 60th minute when Leah Hunsinger punched in her third goal of the season after receiving a helper from Jayme Goldkind.
