YORK, PA. – Senior outfielder Grant Oberholtzer continued to add to his postseason accolades on Thursday afternoon when it was announced by D3baseball.com that Oberholtzer was placed on the All-South Region first team. This is the second straight first-team selection for Oberholtzer.
Oberholtzer joins five other CAC players on the first team with Christopher Newport placing five members of their squad on the team. Oberholtzer became just the second player in school history to earn multiple first team All-Region awards joining former Spartan great, Matt Day.
Oberholtzer had another spectacular season as a senior patrolling centerfield and batting leadoff for the Green and White. He led the team with a .360 average, 63 hits, 55runs, and a perfect 22-for-22 stealing bases. He also smashed 13 doubles, four triples, eight homers, and drove in 38 from the top spot in the lineup. He also fielded .992 in centerfield making just one error in 124 total chances.
Oberholtzer ended his career as one of the top offensive players in school history. He is among the program's all-time leaders in career batting average at .365, slugging percentage at .562, on-base percentage with .447, 133 runs scored, 16 home runs, 102 RBI, and 35 stolen bases. Oberholtzer is also a two-time All-CAC first team selection earning that honor again this season earlier this month.
