YORK, PA - York College senior first baseman Brad Wenzel (Blandon, Pa./Fleetwood Area) was named the Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Wenzel had a huge week in leading the Spartans to a 6-1 week as the Green and White continues to lead the CAC with a mark of 12-1. Wenzel hit .516 (16-for-31) for the week with 13 runs scored, 12 RBI, three doubles, and two home runs for the Spartans. He had at least one hit in all seven games and scored at least one run in six of the seven games.
His biggest day of the week came in the doubleheader sweep of Wesley. In game one, Wenzel banged out a career-high five hits with a career-high seven RBI and four runs scored with a double and a home run. In game two, Wenzel was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBI, a double, and a home run.
For the year, Wenzel is hitting an even .400 with 29 RBI, 20 runs scored, six doubles, and three home runs. He has a .588 slugging percentage and a .438 on-base percentage.
