The York College baseball team got a strong eight innings from starter Joey Couch but the Spartans allowed three runs in the bottom of the ninth as Ferrum College posted a 3-2 walk off win on Saturday night in Ferrum, VA.

Tretter Named Second-Team All-CAC
York College junior center fielder Steve Tretter earned second-team All-CAC accolades as announced by the conference office on Wednesday. Tretter earns the conference honor for the first time in his two-year Spartan career.

Falcons Upend Spartans in Non-Conference Tilt
The York College baseball squad dropped a 5-2 decision at Messiah College on Monday afternoon in Grantham, PA. The Spartans fall to 11-26 overall while the Falcons improve to 22-17.

Spartans Drop a Pair at Randolph-Macon
The York College baseball squad dropped a non-conference doubleheader at Randolph-Macon College on Saturday afternoon in Ashland, VA. Randolph-Macon took game one 13-2 and then completed the sweep with a 3-1 win in game two. The Yellow Jackets improve to 23-18 overall with the two wins while the Spartans fall to 11-25.

#1 CNU Sweeps Spartans in Saturday Twinbill
he York College baseball team dropped a pair of games at the top ranked team in the nation as Christopher Newport downed the Spartans 5-4 in the opener before completing the sweep with a 10-3 win in the nightcap.

The York College baseball squad fell to the Wesley College Wolverines 5-3 in the second round of the 2011 Capital Athletic Conference baseball tournament on Friday afternoon in Dover, Delaware.

Sea Gulls Use Four Run Third to Down Spartans
The top-seeded Salisbury University Sea Gulls used a four-run third inning to down the sixth seeded York College Spartans 4-0 in the opening round of the 2011 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament on Wednesday. The Spartans are now 9-19 overall while the Sea Gulls improve to 20-9.

Spartans Drop 6-1 Decision at EMU
The York College baseball team dropped a 6-1 decision at Eastern Mennonite on Saturday afternoon in Harrisonburg, VA. The Spartans are now 9-17 overall while the Royals improve to 9-22 overall.

Saikia Named New Assistant Dean for Athletics and Recreation
York College of Pennsylvania is proud to announce that Paul Saikia has been selected as the new Assistant Dean for Athletics and Recreation. Saikia, who has been the Spartans’ baseball coach for the last 24 years, has served as an Associate Athletic Director for the last ten years. Saikia was selected after an extensive national search filled with high caliber candidates.

York College junior centerfielder Steve Tretter was named the Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week after leading the Spartans to a pair of key CAC wins as the Spartans are battling for playoff position.

Spartans Down Elizabethtown on a Sunny Monday
The York College baseball squad posted an 8-4 non-conference win over Elizabethtown College on a sun-splashed Monday afternoon at Jaquet Field in York. The Spartans, winners of three of their last four, improve to 9-15 overall while the Blue Jays fall to 10-10 for the season.

Spartans Dramatic Seventh Inning Comeback Results in a Sunday Split
The York College baseball squad split a Capital Athletic Conference double header against Mary Washington on Sunday afternoon in York. The Spartans won game one 6-5 in walk off fashion before the Eagles salvaged the split with a 6-2 win in the nightcap.

Spartan Offense Erupts for 16 Runs in Victory at UMW
The York College baseball team opened a three-game set with Mary Washington in impressive fashion as the Spartans tallied a 16-4 victory in Fredericksburg, VA on Saturday. The Spartans have won three straight in conference play as they are now 6-8 in the CAC.

The Spartans improve to 4-8 overall and 3-4 in the CAC while the Mustangs fall to 5-13 and 2-6 in the conference.

York College senior starting pitcher Andy Rosenzweig earned the Capital Athletic Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week award as announced by the CAC office on Monday afternoon. Rosenzweig shared the weekly award with St. Mary's sophomore Devon Jerrard.

The York College baseball team opened their Capital Athletic Conference season with a 10-3 setback at Salisbury University on Saturday afternoon. The Sea Gulls improve to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference while the Spartans fall to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the league.

Spartans End Atlanta Trip with 10-5 Loss
The York College baseball squad concluded their stay at the 2011 Emory University Rawlings Classic on Sunday afternoon with a 10-5 loss to the host Emory Eagles. The Spartans fall to 1-3 overall while the Eagles improve to 4-1 overall.

Spartans Fall to Denison in 10 Innings
The York College baseball squad dropped a 5-4 decision to Denison University in 10 innings on Saturday afternoon during the second day of the Rawlings Southern Classic in Atlanta, Georgia. The Spartans, who downed the Big Red 13-4 on Friday, fall to 1-2 overall while Denison picks up its first win of the season as they are now 1-2.

Spartans Open 2011 With a Split at Rawlings Southern Classic
The York College baseball team opened their 2011 season with a split during the first day of the Emory University Rawlings Southern Classic in Atlanta, Georgia. The Spartans began the day with a 13-4 win over Denison University before falling to the host Eagles 8-4 in the nightcap.

2011 York College Baseball Season Preview
The York College baseball squad enters the 2011 campaign coming off back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances as they return a wealth of talent and experience. Combine that in with a strong group of newcomers and head coach Paul Saikia begins his 24th season with high expectations.

Spartans Set to Host Winter Skills Clinics
The York College baseball program will be hosting a 2011 Spartan Winter Baseball Camp. There will be a pair of camps. One camp is the Advanced Camp for ages 13-18 that will be held on January 22 and 23. The second camp is a Fundemental Camp for ages 8-12 and that camp will be conducted on January 29 and 30.

Spartan Baseball Set to Host Fall Futures Clinic
The York College Baseball Program presents the Spartan Baseball October Futures Clinic. The event is planned for players (14 years of age and older) with an interest in continuing their baseball careers at the collegiate level.

Klinck and Ullom Named ABCCL All-Stars
A pair of York College baseball players have enjoyed a very successful summer in preparation for the Spartans’ 2011 campaign. Rising senior Rob Klinck and rising junior Brandon Ullom each played for the Jackson Thunder of the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League based in New Jersey. The association is a prestigious wood bat league that features some of the top collegiate talent on the east coast.
