YORK, PA – York College is proud to announce that men’s soccer forward Chris Weaver (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Spalding) has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 22.
Weaver led the nationally ranked Spartans to a pair of 1-0 wins as the Green and White improved to 6-1 for the season.
In the Spartans win at regional rival Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, Weaver found the back of the net with 1:03 remaining in regulation to give the Spartans the huge road victory.
Against Neumann on Saturday, Weaver put the Spartans in position to win when he assisted Tobi Iguade (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic) on the game’s lone goal in the middle of the first half as the Spartans won their sixth match of the year.
Weaver leads the Spartans in scoring as the senior has tallied eight points on three goals and two assists. He has notched 26 career points on ten goals and six assists in 71 career contests.
Weaver is a professional writing major and is the son of Douglas and Deborah Weaver.
