YORK, PA – York College is proud to announce that junior swimmer Lindsey Buglino (Wharton, N.J./Jefferson) has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week for the week ending on January 19.
Buglino had a very busy week for the Spartans as they closed out their 2013-14 regular season. Buglino recorded six first-place finishes and three second-place finishes in the Spartans' three events for the week.
Buglino began her week with wins in the 1000 free and the 200 butterfly against Rowan. Buglino notched her 1000 free win in a time of 11:05.82. Her win in the 200 butterfly came in 2:21.87. She finished second in the 200 IM (2.19.95) and was a member of the runner-up 200 free relay squad (1:46.46).
Against Gallaudet and Penn State Altoona on Friday, Buglino won the 200 and 500 free for the Spartans. She notched a winning time of 2:07.38 in the 200 and 5:38.30 in the 500. Buglino was also the member of the winning 200-medley relay team.
Buglino closed out her week with a first and a second against Ursinus on Saturday. Buglino won the 500 free with a time of 5:29.68 and finished second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:56.79.
Buglino is the daughter of David and Charla Buglino and is a business administration major at YCP.
