YORK, PA - York College is proud to announce that junior golfer David Boslough (Dalton, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) has been named the Spartan Athlete of the Week ending on March 30, 2014.
Boslough had two fantastic rounds to lead the Spartan golfers in their two tournaments for the week.
In the York College Invitational on March 24, Boslough led the Spartans with a four-over-par 76 as he finished tied for 12th in the 83 player field.
Boslough then led the Spartans to a third-place finish at the loaded 18-team McDaniel Invitational on Saturday at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown. Boslough shot a three-over 75 to place third at the 89-player tournament. The Spartans finished third in the tournament as they came in behind nationally ranked St. John Fisher and Rochester. Boslough's round was more impressive as he played in the afternoon flight when the rain storm made play very difficult in Abbottstown. He shot the best score of all the players who played in the afternoon flight.
Boslough leads the Spartans with a season average of 75.8 strokes per round. He has notched five top-five finishes as nine of his 10 rounds this season have left in with a top-20 finish.
Boslough is a sport management major and is the son of David and Leslie Boslough.
